I have been kicking the idea around about getting one to save putting daily miles on my diesel. Just want a run around town truck and one for short weekend trips. Seriously considering the AWD model in XL with the tow package. Don't care about electronics, gadgets or technology. Drove one a few months ago and it seemed pretty decent but you can only tell so much from a short drive. Anybody here got one and want to share the pros and cons?

And before anyone gets stupid, Yes I know they are small. Yes I know they won't haul much or tow much. Yes I know they won't have all the creature comforts. But if I need to haul or tow anything I still have my diesel. I'm just talking about a truck to run around in.

They're decent little pickups - not bad for what you're wanting.

One other consideration - Toyota Rav4 - they drive great, last forever, and get silly mpg in the 2019 and newer ones with the 9-speed. Bought one for my daughter for her first car and thought I'd drive it around to keep miles off my F250 and the F250 has been sitting in the shop for a long time now. I really enjoy driving it quite a bit. No truck bed but other than that they're pretty great.

Toyota Tacoma for small pickup or a Honda Civic for a car

IDK but the Honda's 3.5l in the Ridgeline flat out spanks my 4runner's 4.0l in performance and fuel economy.

Ridgline and Mavericks are CuckTrucks. Haha.

Never again in my lifetime. I had one before they became rubber duck trucks. Biggest POS I have ever owned.

I drove 3/4 or 1 ton diesel trucks for 30 years to haul horses and cattle and never could make the math work to buy a second vehicle. Everything still burns fuel, insurance, tires, batteries etc. and I never wore out a diesel truck , put over 250,000 miles on a couple of them.

If you’re gonna get a vehicle to save gas get a civic. But the reality is that unless you just have plenty of money and just want something easier to get around in, even the higher gas prices and more expensive maintenance costs of a bigger diesel truck will not be offset by the purchase of any new vehicle.

RAV4 has a CVT it would not pull much in a pinch.

I bought a 2025 honda hatchback to save $$ from driving my 2023 2500HD....best thing ever did...39 MPG on the honda and it fits all my poles and fishing gear when meeting up buddies to fish in another state

We haven't heard anything official from GM regarding tariffs it's been a wait and see deal up to this point.

GM and Ford lots are full of new vehicles, they can raise prices all they want and then will really be out of parking spaces; remember when they stuck it to the consumer over the chip shortage?

It will quickly. Saves me $800 a month locally in fuel and it saved me $1000 on a fishing trip to West Coast recently. Drive truck when towing boat only...all around its a $$$ and mileage(truck) savings machine.

With current employee pricing, the tariff wouldn’t make a difference.

Do you drive about 8000 miles a month? I’m just saying for the average person who drives 2,000 miles a month, the math doesn’t support an extra vehicle to save fuel. Even then, youre looking at close to 200000 miles before you break even. I think you’ve done some funny math here.
