For all you Lowrance users with AT 1 and 2 there is a new update that came out today 25.1 Updates for all the MFDs that have AT. This updates package has lots of improvements on image and added functionality. Read the Notes for your unit to see all the changes. Hawg from Russel Marine posted that the images are great upgrades. If you have questions just ask. I will be on Fork tomorrow with the updates will report back after that.

How are the updates? I’m on the fence right now. I bought a new boat a few weeks ago. It has 3 Lowrance 12’s and a Garmin 12 with LVS34. I don’t really like it as well as the Lowrance Pro 12 and AT2 on my other boat. I am thinking about swapping them, then selling my old boat with the Garmin and 34 on it. If the 25.1 is a decent update, one that gives the AT2 any better quality picture…I might go through the hassle of swapping them.

I was on Lake fork the day after the update and I had my process down pat and had to change if after the update. When garmin came out with the 34 I saw lots of users saying that know its like Lowrances. When I did the 25.1 update I say know Lowrance is like garmin LOL. In reality its a major improvement and still has the works great out of the box without a lot of configuring. Before 25 I ran my sensitivity at 93 % know I run it at 88/89 % Then I discovered that if your running on Forward do your settings then switch to Auto View from Forward it all clears up so I am assuming they have automated all the internal setting to get the perfect picture including the angle offset. At This point I am just guessing on this automation as that is the way it looks, have not talked to anyone yet will get more info at the Classic as there will be plenty of tech help I can ask. It is well worth the update. This also works on Carbon and AT1 FS and Lives. Besides there are many other upgrades other than AT now have Following the Contour for the ghost and Recon. called Depth Routing. Fixed the aspect ratio on Scout and couple other items. If you want to read all the changes just go to your units update and read the notes its all there.

I have read that you have to do the 25 update on every thing you have ie I have a 12 has live and active target 2 , my question is when you install the update in the hds live ,what do you do to install the update in the active target 2 ? Hopefully I ask the question the correct way.

There are 25.1 updates for whatever equipment you have. You update the AT2 from your HDS live put it on the sd card go to storage find the card touch the update file and follow the instructions for upgrade. Take your time DO the HDS first then the AT2, 2 different process for these 2. Don't forget to power on the AT also put your stop sonar on for your AT so it not pinging out of the water.
