In 8'6" in ML & M, 10' in M+ & 11' Also in M+! (M+ is Like Med/Hwy) What do all 4 rods in 3 lengths have in common? All are spinning rods & hane no fore-grips. Why? This allows the angler more sensitivity to feel nibbles & bite detections for both lure & bait users. Great plus for braid users.
Rods have tip over butt ferule connections. All are composed of 24/30 carbon blanks. Also Seaguide XQ angled 316 SS guide frames. These frames have Zirconium inserts for braid users. Seaguide frames are constructed from high grade SS like the trapezoid shaped HD hook keeper (really take a hard look at that). Also the reduced weight from the new EVA split grip design accounts for less weight & improved balance. And these SP Surf Rods are backed by a1yr Limited Warranty.
Currently there's two 8'6" models. Both are 2pc 50/50 split configuration with 12-1/2in rear grips. The MF "Moderate Fast" rating means the upper 2/3 of the rod bends under load. The ML weighs only 4oz & the M is 4.4oz. The 10ft model is also a 2pc 50/50 configuration w/9-guides + tip w/a 19-1/2in rear grip. The new rating for Rod Power is M+ (basically means Med/Hwy). Has a Med Fast taper as previously explained. Rod weight is only 5.78oz. The longest rod is at 11' also in a 50/50 configuration in 2pcs. Also has a 19-1/2in rear grip as well with the same M+ Rod Power rating. Has a Med/Fast rod taper as well. Weight is 7.57oz. These rods have since made a home from California-Oregon for the shore-line Sea Perchers to Halibut & Striper anglers. This is why the Okuma homepage & Amazon always keep selling out of the SP's. Took me 6-months on a waiting list to get my longest rod.
From shore jigging to lure & bait casting & even float to Carolina rigs these are proven rods. I currently have all 3 sizes. I shore-cast lures/jigs to bait-casting using these light yet strong multi-purpose rods.
