Has anyone fished Lake Meredith in the Texas panhandle for walleye? I'm aware it's one of the only lakes in texas that has walleye.

Meredith and Wheeler Branch Reservoir both have walleye, but catching walleye in Wheeler Branch is rare. I have tried to catch one there for a decade without success; although, I have seen several caught. Meredith has a good population of walleye and you can catch walleye there. The fish are most active from April to June and 90% of the walleye are caught during those months. I have a special fondness for Meredith because after 3 days of fishing, I caught my 100th Texas State Record there. ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2025/02/full-107020-261098-img_8327a.jpeg)

Meredith is supposed to be the best in texas. I think there are 5-6 lakes with them in there in Texas. Mostly in the panhandle. Better fishing for them in other states that are a lot closer drive for most Texans.

White River Reservoir near Lubbock also has a good population of walleye.Haven't fished in several years but looking at the TPWD info they stocked the hell out of it the last few years.
