In your opinion, if you do not mind, when is the absolute peak time of year to fish for flats redfish?

Only the really big bull reds migrate, until they get super-sized we catch them year round, good days and sometimes not so easy.

The only things that whack out fishing is a really hard freeze event, or a sustained 30 mph north wind. When those happen, you just adjust your fishing to match, they're always somewhere, and they're always eating.

Example, when we do get a hard cold snap, I can trailer up to Lolita, and put in at the Lavaca river, big trout will pile into the channel and it's absolutely game on for that.

Thanks Pat!

A couple of reds like in the photo, on a 6-weight fly rod, would be great.

It took me a minute to figure out that was your boat in the back of the fishers - its got no sides on it!

Yeah, that was my jet scooter. I miss it, it could run through less than 2" with zero issue. But times change, grandaughters are wanting to fish, and I'm taking a few over load guide trips now. So, needed something that was more stable. I do have to pay a little closer attention to my navigation now.
