The American Cancer Society in association with the Ray Hubbard Bass Cub are proud to announce the Ninth Annual Fish For A Cure benefit tournament on Lake Ray Hubbard! Here are the details.

• When: Sunday October 27th
• Where: Lake Ray Hubbard - Chandlers Landing Marina Ramp (10.00 launch fee to be paid at registration)
• Time: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM
• Registration starts at: 5:00 AM
• Entry Fee: $150.00 per boat - 2 person maximum - Big Bass included!
• Guaranteed win payout of $3000.00 with no minimum entries

All proceeds from this tournament go directly to the American Cancer Society for the fight against cancer. This is a team tournament. One or two people per boat. You will register in person the morning of the event. Our Tournament Director again this year will be Larry Ladnier of Victory Fishing, a long time Ray Hubbard fixture. He will have the weigh in stage set up for registration/check in Sunday morning beginning at 5:00 in the parking lot at Chandlers Landing Marina. Once you have registered and had your live well check done, you may launch, or trailer to a ramp of your choice. First cast is at 7:00AM. Lines must be out of the water at 3:00PM. You must be in line to weigh your fish at Chandlers Landing Marina by 4:00PM. Entry fee is $150.00. Your entry fee includes Big Bass with a payout of $1000 ($750 first and $250 second) It also includes an event shirt for each participant. 2024 Fish For A Cure Rules

After you register, you will get your event shirts, and have the opportunity to buy tickets for our drawing. Tickets will be $5.00 each or 5 for $20.00. A full list of prizes will be posted here soon.

If you or your business is interested, sponsorships are available from $250.00 - $2500.00. Each level has a few more benefits. Every sponsorship of $500.00 or more comes with at least one free tournament entry. If you would like to pay your entry fee by credit card, you can e-mail me and I can take your information. We do not have an online site for early entries. All items (entry fee, extra shirts, drawings and launch fee) can be paid for on the morning of in cash, credit card or by check made out to Fish For A Cure. If you cannot join us but would like to donate to this great cause or buy drawing tickets, again contact me using one of the methods above and we will make arrangements.

Cancer is an awful disease. As a cancer survivor, I was one of the lucky ones, but so many are not. I have seen with my own eyes the hurt and suffering caused by this horror and I'm sure most if not all of you have as well. Let's do something about it! We hope you come and join us on October 27th for a great day of fishing, fellowship and camaraderie. The American Cancer Society does amazing work. Help us, help them!

Come out and fish and have fun

We are 13 hours from first cast! A few things to know if you are fishing with us. We will begin registration at 5:00AM. You will be stopped on the hill coming in, Your live wells will be checked and you must ign a waiver form. RHBC volunteers will be there to take care of all of that quickly. Then you come up and register with me. If you are launching at Chandlers, it's an extra $10.00 so your total will be $160. After you register, we'll send you over to the ticket/shirt booth where you will get your participant shirts and can buy drawing tickets, extra shirts and FFAC hats. Tickets are $5.00 each or 5 for $20.00. Please spend liberally. Tickets will be sold from 5:00AM until weigh in concludes at 4:00PM when the drawings will begin. Someone will be at the booth to sell you tickets all day. You do NOT have to be there to win something. We will have your contact info and I will get your prize to you. After registration, you can launch at a ramp of your choice and go to your spot. First cast is at 7:00AM. Lines are out at 3:00PM. You MUST be in the weigh in line by 4:00PM.We will have volunteers there to help at the ramp in the morning if you are launching solo and to keep the parking well organized as we are expecting a great turnout. We will have a golf cart running you back to your boat if you are parked a long ways from the ramp. Same thing when you come in at the end of your fishing day. Please help us make this a special day. And think about those in your circle of family and friends that have dealt with cancer. We do this for them.

We have 83 boats out on a chilly foggy morning on Ray Hubbard. Awesome turnout! Thanks to you all! Come on down to weigh in at 3:00. See some toads weighed in, buy a shirt, hat or some tickets and support the American Cancer Society!

The story on Ray Hubbard is usually the better the weather, the worse the fishing but that was NOT the case Sunday. Big bags and big fish were the order of the day. 83 boats fishing with us is a blessing from above and shows the power of people when the cause is a great one. When weigh in was over the team of Keith Taylor and Chadd Dearen were our winners with 24.40 pounds anchored by a 6.94 big fish. The team of Hector De La Garza and Chad Grace took big bass honors with an 8.63 toad. It took 19.06 to get a check Sunday! Fishing was great. I will post full results and pictures this week as well as a final tally of money raised which was substantial. The generosity of Texans never ceases to amaze me. Put it on your calendar now. Our 10th anniversary of Fish For A Cure will be Sunday, October 26th 2025! Make plans to join us!
