Gonna try again, but for bay side species in early November at SPI. Thanks for the imgur-fu! (Posted another one at freshwater discussions, FWIW.)

yep, the mention of snook does bring back memories... had moved to south florida in the 80s, found an apartment three blocks from Anglin Pier, in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea. Realized the first day fishing the pier and getting busted off quick a few times that I needed to beef up.. guys were landing 20 lbs fish regularly that day.. 27 was the biggest weighed. Some of the pier pros were using 80 lb straight mono and free lining huge live mullet. These guys were meat hunters, it wasnt the fight, it was the eating. Respooled line from 15 to 50 mono on a Abu 1500C... almost destroyed the spool.. had a garcia 300 spinning rod that I had landed big pike on up in Canada... didnt work off the pier.. ended up walking across the street around noon and buying a Shimano 4500 BaitRunner and 7 heavy spinning rod.. It wasnt enough either for the snook that were coming through that day, but became my go to rig for fish up to 15 lbs. off pier.. Everglades Snook from a year or so ago.

Second trip coming up. Bay side methinks. Hoping for topwater action with Z-Spook or Skinny Lipper lures.

https://imgur.com/a/qp5SJqUBlack drum (9), speckled trout (1) and golden croaker (10) kept. Ten more under-sized released along with ladyfish, gafftopsail catfish, etc. Drift fishing Cullen Bay, drop shotting South Bay on outgoing tide, with fresh shrimp and Fish Bites. Captain Brian delivers!!!
