All,
With the summer weather pattern now firmly in place, it is once again time for downrigging.
Fish are suspended above the thermocline, often in small, highly mobile groups, and downrigging is an effective way to find and catch them.
I am offering on-the-water downrigging trips this summer aimed at helping you understand this equipment.
These trips will be useful for those who:1. Are considering investing in downriggers but have not yet done so.
2. Have downriggers but don't use them.
3. Are a bit "intimidated by downriggers".
4. Use downriggers but have not adapted tactics/gear/lures for white bass
5. Are having little or no success with downriggers, especially in the summer months.
These trips will take place on Lake Belton on weekday mornings through mid-September.
My normal rate of $295 (total, not per angler) for up to two anglers will apply. This covers a full 4-hour session.
I will provide all gear.
You will train on the state-of-the art downrigging equipment on my boat which includes a linked pair of Cannon Optimum downriggers networked to a Humminbird Apex 16 sonar unit.
Even if you don't have, or are not considering, electric downriggers, the skills of mounting, rigging, raising, lowering, and presenting lures with downriggers will still be applicable to whatever equipment you have or may obtain.
