... A) he’s not going to be convicted of a felony. B) there is only one tournament a year in the UK that matters. There are a handful in other countries that don’t matter. The vast majority (99.999%) of the tournaments that matter and he cares about are in the US. His golf career would not, by any stretch of the imagination be over. We're talking about Louisville here... The police dept. isn't held in the highest regards, they're on their heels reacting instead of acting... The minorities will be pushing for the max... I was just floating this as a possibility, even if it's only a remote possibility... Dan Delusional.

If Scotty was a black American they would have arrested him. I thought they did arrest him.

Just thought of this... If convicted his golf career maybe over... A lot of other countries won't let felons enter their country... Dan
In general, the UK will not allow entry to people who have been convicted of a criminal offense punishable by at least 12 months in prison. First of all, his career isn't "over." Secondly, ALL the players, caddies, and coaches were sent a text notifying them of the situation (I've received them) regarding the unfortunate accident that resulted in the death of a volunteer. Within this text were the instructions as to how to enter the property for all involved. Thirdly, Scotty Scheffler is one of the least egotistical world class players I've ever met, and I've been around them for over 5 decades. I was first around him (many times) when he was in HS at HP as he was paired with kids I've developed. He's always been a very polite, somewhat quiet, mature, HIGHLY professional, HIGHLY focused, and 100% first class individual. I would be shocked if he did anything other than ATTEMPT to follow the directives contained within the text. He was also driving a CLEARLY marked official tournament courtesy SUV and wearing a CLEARLY marked official tournament ID (I have multiple examples hanging in my office) and you CANNOT miss em (unless highly distracted or HIGHLY uninformed). Whether some like it or not, the death of a volunteer cannot (nor should it) stop the tournament proceeding as scheduled for any significant amount of time. +/- 50,000 spectators, 156 players (and support staff), several hundred volunteers and employees, etc etc etc are involved in the production of the event. A tournament of this scale is a HIGHLY coordinated event, requiring years of planning, and ANY disruption affects all involved. Something as simple as a weather delay (and those are somewhat predictable) quite often causes significant issues to the success of a tournament. As I stated in the earlier thread, this is IMOP, at its root, nothing more than a huge misunderstanding (in a chaotic situation) that escalated into a very unfortunate incident for all involved. Hopefully, cooler heads will prevail and an amicable resolution reached that's acceptable to all involved. Otherwise this will end up in serious legal escalation. IMOP, knowing some of the facts (albeit 2nd, 3rd, and 4th hand), there is a high probability that Scotty will end up vindicated and possibly involved in civil litigation with the City of Louisville..... with the predictable media BS.

It looks like the pressure of this incident is starting to catch up with him. Bad round of golf yesterday for him and a slow start today. I hope for the best for Scottie.

] Saw reports this morning that all charges are expected to be dropped early this week As they should, plus fire Barney Fife. Scottie is too nice and will likely be very humble and just move on quietly. A lot of people with his kind of cheddar would sue Fife and the City of Louisville just to show them what it's like to be inconvenienced just because.
