I was reading some recent posts on the Facebook "Lake Fayette Fishing" page this morning. Right now, most people consider fishing this lake a complete waste of time because the bass bite is so bad.. And it is pretty bad, but it means less boat traffic, so I am lovin it. Got to the lake b4 sunrise & fished until 2:30. Ended up with 2 small bass, 1 baby rio, 1 tilapia & 115 sunfish. The vast majority of the sunnies are small, but you get a kicker now & then mixed in. Tried 4 different sunny spots & got 30, 25, 50 & 10. One of the spots was a new find so that was exciting. Water temp was still 89 - 98 degrees & there were areas that had a lot of green algae clouds in the water & still quite a few dead fish everywhere. Got to see a spectacular Osprey show at daybreak with 3 of them dive bombing in the water for fish. That alone was worth the price of admission ! All fish released so Jonboat has something to do on his next trip to FCL ...

Yesenia...That baby rio was caught on the complete opposite side of the lake from where I usually catch them...mixed in a colony of bluegills...a true trailblazer for equality & integration

I always find it funny to talk with other fishermen at the ramps and ask them how many fish they've caught. It's usually 4 but mostly less than that, the look on their face is priceless when I say 30 or 40
