9/2/2023: I fished about 4 hours and caught 61 whites and 3 short hybrids. I ran into fishing buddy Dave and he said he had been having his best success with a 1/3 oz Little Cleo catching whites and 12 legal hybrids in one spot. So, I tried it and did well also. I also did well on a #2 Mepps with weight up the line. It was better today than the heavy MAL Mepps #2. I caught fish at Enchanted Isle Ridge, Spillway Hump, and Saint Annes East all in 10 to 17 fow.

9/8/2023: Lenahorse Larry and neighbor Graham went out with me today from 7:05 AM til 11:30 AM, and we caught a total of 64: 50 white bass, 4 legal hybrids, 3 short hybrids, 5 cats, a yellow bass, and a crappie. We caught some surfacing in the Key Ranch area, some at Merimac Point, at Spillway Hump, at Enchanted Isle Ridge, and at Pole Dance Point. We used tail-spinners,1/3 oz Little Cleos, #2 Mepps spinners, and BoBlades. Most fish were in 8 to 18 fow. Here's a couple of pics:

9/18/2023: Went out from 12:15 to 3:15 PM. Spent 45 minutes trying to catch fish on the .8 oz yellow BoBlade, but got only one bite although I could see fish on sidescan at 3 different locations. The last one was Key Ranch Drop-off. So, I switched to a #2 Mepps.and started catching fish. The fish kept moving around but I finally got a 25 fish limit in about an hour and 40 minutes. Before Leaving for home, I tried the BoBlade again just in case they might bite. I caught a nice white on the 3rd cast and the next 7 casts. I continued until I had another 25 fish limit - all from one spot, and it only took 35 minutes to get the 2nd limit - all on the .8 oz yellow BoBlade. Don't know why they bit the BoBlade when they wouldn't earlier. Maybe time of day mattered. They wanted the BoBlade cranked medium fast for 6 turns of the reel on a 8.3:1 ratio reel with full spool.

9/21/2023: Lenahorse Larry and neighbor Bob went out with me on CC from 8 AM to 1 PM, and we caught 103: 90 white bass, 5 big hybrids, 5 shorts, and 3 cats. Three of the hybrids were fat 23.5 inch fish. We found some early under the birds then fished Key Ranch Drop-off, Sam's Hump, Drew's Hump, Pole Dance Point, and another un-named point on the east side. The smallest yellow BoBlade was the ticket. We caught fish in 8 to 15 fow.

9/22/2023: Van Sickle Baptist Church pastor David Upchurch and Mike, one of his members, joined me on CC this morning from 7:30 AM to 12:30 PM. We caught 84: 65 whites, 6 legal hybrids, 9 short hybrids, 2 black bass, and 2 cats. We started in Key Ranch flats and found surface schooling fish. Twelve of the 1st 15 fish caught were hybrids.. After that ended we fished Key Ranch Drop-off, Merimac Point, Dollhouse Point, Spillway Point, Game Warden Point, and Sam's Hump. Like yesterday, the go-to bait was the smallest yellow BoBlade. David had a 6.3 to 1 reel and braided line, and neither he nor I could catch a fish on that rig. I let him use my 8.3 to 1 Lew's reel and 100% fluorocarbon line, and he began catching fish. The biggest hybrid was 23 inches. Fish were in 8 to 15 on structure. Went back out by myself for a couple of hours and caught 26 more including a 26 inch 7 lb hybrid. Pic below.
