We hit a few small hybrids and whites early on top which was fun. I have this little spot in the trees along the river channel that always produced during the heat of summer. The difference was I always fished live bait. Today we had jigging spoons. After searching for fish in clean water I told him I know where they are but never tried with jigs. Sure enough the fish were there. With live scope we were able to jig the tree tops. Caught these two on back to back drops. Both approx 12-13lbs . Previous best on a jigging spoon maybe 6-7lb. Ended up catching one more just shy of 30”. They wanted one color and had only one. Great morning on Lady Buch

What kind of jigging spoons were you using? I’ve never fished with spoons for striper before.

Well you found some water and tree tops that are actually below the water. That is getting harder to do these days. Nice to see those healthy fish. Did you lose any lures in those tree tops.?

This time of yr I always go to the trees first. Lots of them down by the dam. I didn’t loose any spoons in the trees but straighten the hook a couple of times. Fish were suspended in tree tops at 20-25 ft. Trees in about 40-50ft of water.

That lake needs some runoff in a bad way. I think the only way it is coming up 15' is a tropical storm. 15' is about what the ramp I use needs to be usable. My brother bought a place between Burnet and Inks 3 years ago. I was going a couple of times every spring until this year.

Several place up around Shaw and tow. I’m not sure if any public ramps are open. I know if the lake stays this low the fishing is going to be phenomenal this fall and winter

Burnet is not a good choice in a south wind. I have not used it in a long time. Less water will make the fish easier to find.
