It's about time to get the A/C serviced. I'm thinking it's also time to get a brand new complete setup.

Do the prices fluctuate higher in the summer? Is it better to throw good money at bad until the prices come down? Do you guys know any reputable and honest A/C folks?

Jim Dutton recommends On Time Experts. They were recently running a great tune-up special. My ac company of 13 years pizzed me off a couple months ago so I'm going to give them a try when my service contract runs out.

From what I've seen. During the prime months for AC repair. They'll offer a inspection visit for so much money.

They will find something. If a bird took a dump on the compressor outside. You'll need the entire thing.

"Leak in the attic" seems a popular problem.

Keep it going until it won’t go no more.

Wait another year. Just talked to my ac guy and new systems and refrigerants are coming out. More efficient and entire system will need to be replaced when going to it to maximize efficiency.

Also look around. The big companies have way more overhead and will always be quite a bit more expensive. I’ve had work done by several smaller companies that saved me almost 2k for just a condenser replacement over the bigger companies.

The AC on this house. Keep the coils clean. Outside unit(condenser and compressor) and the inside unit (Evaporator).

There's really not that much that can wrong on an AC system. Besides the fan on the outside unit.

The compressor is sealed in a canister filled with oil. Everything else is copper line, silver bronze soldered.

The prices are never coming back down. The govt. is trying to make companies only produce 17 SEER and up units. Best bet is to bite the bullet, get a new Compressor, Evaporator system. You'll be good for 12 years at least if you get a decent brand. Washburn Air in Grapevine is who I have used for our last two systems. We got a complete new system last September. Very happy with its performance.

Just had a 2 ton replaced, $8,600 for a SEER2 with a new supply cut in the the ceiling. Had a 5 ton 16 SEER installed 2 years ago at the new office with all the duct and return for $14,200. Prices went crazy since then

These guys did work on two houses on my street. Its a small street of only 12 houses. I talked to those neighbors and they highly recommended them.

About a year ago to the day they replaced my original to the house 1998 unit for a super sweet one! Its literally paid for itself almost already. The purchasing process was easy, no BS. I had a few questions and their rep called me right back and addressed them all.

Come install day they were on time. They all spoke perfect English, bonus, and kept telling me that their goal was to do the install so perfectly and clean, that when the owner came by at the end of day to inspect the job, he would not point out a single thing that was not up to spec or was not perfect.

Good price, great install, Veteran owned (as if you could not have guessed), perfect ratings on google etc. I would give them a call.

I knew a guy that hooked up a commercial 5 ton unit to his trailer house. Ran it up through the floor vents. He had worked AC before. No idea where he got the unit. It looked like it came off a convenience store.

His entire trailer was 62°.
