I go out there pretty regularly and the brush that they cut back in January is for the most part grown back and there is plenty of hydrilla growing, I see no evidence of any spraying going on

Hoping it hasn't been sprayed but I was told otherwise during the TXTT on Chambers, also found one of the spray posts here https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/ubbthreads.php/topics/14727767/1

It is call Imminent Domain. States/cities etc can take land for the public good. They can take the land, but must pay fair value for it to the current owners. This is an excellent example of Imminent Domain usage. Whats bad is when they take your land to let a developer put up a shopping center. Law was never intended for that. It is for getting land for roads, public use parks, etc.

If it was a stupid idea, you can be assured I have already done it

Exactly what is a fair price for a development that is going to have about 2-3 billion in it by the time its done?

I just wonder what Todd's counter offer amounted to. The amount the state offered looks to me to be a pittance of what the property was worth.
For the state to say that Todd would not work with them is seems to be an outright lie. Its the state that wants Todd to give them their property for the amount they had invested.

The state has said they aren't using eminent domain here. My guess is the court case may last years and they will revisit that decision somewhere down the road.

Both are about morals and rights. Because I don't think they should have an abortion does not mean I should try to take away their right to choose.I am pro life but believe people need to have the right to make their own decisions on abortion.
I also believe the land was fairly offered to the state from the get go but they didn't take advantage of it when they had the opportunity to do so.
Once it sold and the state was going to lose the park people told the state they wanted them to keep it. IMO this is as underhanded as anything I have ever seen. They don't own it and have tried several tactics, all to acquire land for less than any private entity could do.

IMO now that the land has been sold they need to negotiate a price with Todd or walk away.

From here on out the price of making Todd interest whole will be decided by the courts. The first step in eminent domain has happened when Todd Interest was offered 25M to release the contract and walk away, he turned it down. Now things appear to be headed to court if indeed the state pursues eminent domain as they appear to have said they would. It will then be up to a judge, jury, or arbitrator to decide the $$$ that will make Todd Interest whole, I have a feeling it will be north of 100M.

Fairfield needs to be saved to reverse the deadly climate change effects that will ensue from the electric power consuming lake mansions. There will also be massive destruction of vegetation that is currently cooling the planet. Not to mention the habitat destruction to bald eagles, otters, spotted wood ticks, and freckled lily toads. Time is running out for those who love the environment.
