Hey Guys,

Don't know saltwater at all so I need some advice.

Buddy of mine hooked me up with a new account that may really change my business. At the very least, if this happens, I want to buy him the best of the best red fish/trout combo out there. This is the one that most of us want, but would never buy for ourselves.

Any feedback would be welcome and if I have to order custom, that is OK.

He is a bay fisherman out of Port O'Conner area.

Thanks in advance.

Waterloo salinity with a Shimano reel, cast or spinning would be hard to top.

Best of the best? If he likes spinning reels, Shimano Stella 3000, Laguna wader 2. rod. About $1200 ttl. That's the one "we" don't buy for ourselves. You can spend more, but that will put a big smile on his face.

Yeah, that would be better than best.
I've had so many knuckleheads stomping stuff on my boat my brain doesn't even compute a thousand dollar setup.

Waterloo Carbon Mag and Shimano Aldebaran 50 reel. So light you may have to tie a weight to it to keep it from floating away like a helium balloon. Rod is $429 and Reel is $449. The reel is 4.8oz. A light weight reel is 6.2oz.

Most in Texas throw a bait caster. Better check if getting a spinning reel here. Stella is a top of the line spinning reel for sure. I would get a 2500 instead of a 3500. Put 20# braid on it. Waterloo Carbon Mag 6’6”.

A good rule of angling philosophy is not to interfere with another fisherman's ways of being happy, unless you want to be hated.
