For those who have used both which do you prefer? Comparing the bait buster cast nets with 1.5 pounds per foot and the fitec ultra spreader gs1500 with 1.5 pounds of lead per foot. Asking for quality and dependability. Thanks.

I prefer the filtec GS1500 tape net(‎11970).I'm not sure if Bait Buster makes a tape net, the one I lost a few years back was a 1.5 lb ,decent net but was not taped.I replaced it with the filtec mentioned above and immediately noticed I caught more bait with fewer cast, a very important consideration is if you have a bad back such as me or just like to spend more time fishing and less time chasing bait.

What is the difference with the tape net?

Taped net makes all the difference. When shad or other bait goes to 15- 20 feet to still keep a perfect circle all the way to the bottom and come up with the bait. I'll never buy another net that is not taped.

I was referring to a general purpose net. I have a taped net but the Shad can sometimes outrun it this time of year. Ended up with the bait buster

This is a fact. When throwing taped net in shallow water ten feet and less, the shad will swim out from under your toss. Livescope has proven this to me too many times.

Never had this problem thank God............surface to 30 plus feet a taped net has always been superior.
