I have a famous saying, give me good weather and I will give you good fishing. Unfortunately the weather has not been the greatest lately. We have been struggling to fish three to four days in a row because of high winds or rain. It also has been a little cooler spring than normal.
When we have had some good weather days, we have been catching some nice specks and redfish. My customers have been putting together some nice boxes of fish on good weather days. We are still using live shrimp fish under a popping cork about 1 to 2 feet off the bottom. Our trout and redfish look very healthy this year. I am looking forward to a great 2023.
Once the wind dies down and the water temperature starts to warm up, the fishing should be outstanding. I have been moving around looking for some protected areas from the wind to catch my fish. Finding clean water and fishing an incoming or outgoing tide has been key for me. Once the weather settles down, the fishing will get more consistent. Until next time, I will see you on the water.
