Who hasn't had their grub or other plastic slide down on the jig after a few fish were caught? For years I put up with it but found a way to prevent it and preserve the lure.
24g coated floral arrangement wire is sold everywhere as are wire cutters and small pliers:

Cut off a bit as shown large enough to reach the hook curve.

Wrap it around the line tie post once and cut one side off close to it.

Bend it as shown:

Insert into the front of the lure:

It never bothers the fish and can be used with any size jig hook and plastic lure.

Thanks. I've been big on soft plastics since I caught my first bass on a T-rigged Mr Twister curl tail worm and Mr. Twister yellow curl tail grub. The thing I hated using jigs and plastics was having to constantly position the lure back up towards the head after fish were caught. No problem now no matter how many fish are caught. I even use it when 7" Kut Tail worms are attached to 1/16 oz jigs for jerk worming parallel to bottom.

Having stopped using Uncle Josh pork frogs on my skirted jigs years ago, I needed a way to keep nose-hooked plastic trailers from falling off. Here's an easy solution using the same coated wire.
I wrap the wire around the hook once but loose enough so the trailer has an up & down action, but not too loose that it would go past the barb:

Push the ends into the trailer:
