We started Spring Break week on Sunday with some nice weather and the trout, reds, flounder, and black drum were actively feeding for us on artificials, as well as live shrimp, under a popping cork. Then the Front came in on Sunday evening, with the strong North winds and a large portion of water being blown out of the bay, making for some tougher than normal fishing conditions. By Monday the surface water temperature had dropped from the 70’s to the low 60’s and the visibility in the water was less than 6”, making for some tough fishing in East Galveston Bay. We have postponed a number of trips this week, due to weather conditions, as we strive to keep our anglers safe on the water but hope to get out later this week and get our clients back on some good fish.
If you are looking to have a wonderful experience on the water, reach out, as the weather and fishing will only get better as we move into Spring.
