 Tilt and trim oil

What kind of oil should I put in my tilt and trim reservoir? I've got a slight leak and will be getting it into the shop to see what's wrong but until next week I need to add some oil.

There's a bunch of generic brand name tilt/trim fluids out there that will work fine, but for now I'd stay with your engine Mfg. brand fluid as that is probably what's in your reservoir now. When you get it repaired ask what brand fluid they are installing so you'll know in case you have to add some in the future.

Thanks for the feedback. I topped it off but can't find where it's leaking. I cleaned up around the pump and ran it all weekend but there hasn't been any oil leaked out since.

There's a bunch of generic brand name tilt/trim fluids out there that will work fine, but for now I'd stay with your engine Mfg. brand fluid as that is probably what's in your reservoir now. When you get it repaired ask what brand fluid they are installing so you'll know in case you have to add some in the future. you think fluid is available at O reily etc. ????

I may have same issue- where is reservior to add oil/fluid please. Thanks all. Depends what Mfg.'s hyd. steering system you have.
