I am curious as well. Never been there, but we're camping out there next weekend.

Don't have a clue: however, with the Lake being so low and no rain it might be a tough year up river.

I was out there on 2/19 and the 2/25. Not much water to speak of and only caught 3 whites on 2/25. Uncle went out there on 3/4 and caught 2. Here was the view from just above the boat ramp looking down river. ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2023/03/full-120593-175346-cbsp.jpg)

There is more water about a mile upriver (by Yancey creek) but it is barely moving and it is deceptively shallow. There are a few places that are a few feet deep. Pretty much all of my fish were caught where the river was narrow, deeper and faster moving on 1/8oz white road runners. Even though the fishing wasn't great, I would rather go there than fight all the people at the steps lol! ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2023/03/full-120593-175431-20230225_110049.jpg)

I was there last week. I caught fish right outside of headquarters and even up at Gorman falls, not many but a few. I did see limits being pulled out, was a fam trip so couldn't dedicate the time to limit out. Most fish were staging downriver of the ramp. Mostly males were caught which makes me think they will be pushing farther upriver soon, especially if they get rain. The water is low yes, but not too low for sandbass to run. ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2023/03/full-21859-175932-bend_sandbass.jpeg)

Fantastic! We're camping there this weekend through Monday. First time there. Supposed to rain Thursday. I'm so looking forward to it. Thanks for the info.
