I use Penn reel grease for all of my reels at this time (all shimanos, well, one carbonlite spinning). I am 100% ok with it for my baitcasters. It just seems to be a little ‘heavy’ for my spinning reels. It seems to slow them down, make the handle ‘heavy’ when turning it. Does that make sense? If it does, what reel grease do you prefer for your spinning reels (sahara and ultegra). I attempted to google shimano reel grease but wasn’t super successful. I know there’s gotta be something out there that u all love. I just need to know what it is. FYI, i don’t use my spinning reels tons but i do service them yearly. Thanks in advance folks

As a 98.46% Crappie fisherman a couple squirts of WD40 on my $35 Shimanos make them sing.

I went back into the reel today. Truth be told, i was just heavy handed on the grease. I cleaned some of it out and reel is spinning much nicer now. Lesson learned!

More times than not if anything is done while cleaning and lubing reels, it's over lubing them lol. Best thing I do is use a Q-tip and just ever so slightly swipe the surface of things to be lubed. Even doing it like this I have over lubed my reels before.

I swear, I feel some times if I would just clean the reels and then just show the reels the oil, that would be all that is needed lol...

No expert by any means but all I use is spray of Corrosion X.

Quick update, I just serviced 3 older Shimano spinning reels for a buddy of mine. I made sure I added grease where it was needed but used it cautiously. I had a much better turn out in the end. Lesson learned. More is not always better!
