What products do y’all use to clean the boat after getting out of the water? Do you use any spray waxes as well? I’m buying a new boat and really want to keep it looking new as long as possible. Do you put cover on when traveling to and from lake? Any other tips to keep boat looking new would be great.

I do not road my boat with a cover, you need to make sure all things loose are stowed, and absolutely buy the best Transom saver and use it to and from the lake. Once home, the engine is trimmed down, this allows any water left to drain out.

I also wipe my boat off soon as I get up the ramp and out of the way. That is, if it's not raining lol. While doing that at the lake make sure you trim the motor down to get the majority of the water drained while you wipe her down. Take the drain plug out and leave it out, so the bilge dries, also make sure to drain any livewells or baitwells. You can leave all these open till you return to the lake. That is how I do mine.

I have used the Starbrite Boat Guard and it works really good. This to me is just to slightly polish and bring to a luster with protection. I think it depends on what you are trying to do.

Hop,

That is the way I use the Lucus myself, the boat comes out of the lake, it gets wiped off with, works really well. Now as for that boat of yours, that thing looks dirty lol. You might need to wash it lol.

I just love those Centerline wheels. The rig looks new man. It would be really expensive to try and replace her...

I wipe it down everytime I use it at the ramp. Every week or so I wipe it down with a 50/50 mixture of white vinegar and water. About once a month I'll hit it with some Bass Boat Saver... As far a trailing with a cover, I only do that if they're calling for rain... Before I put the cover on I double wrap it with plastic wrap (Home Depot, Staples carries it) and then fasten the cover as tight as I can get it. The Aurora cover I have fits like a glove so I've never had to worry about any scuffing or marks left by the cover... Dan

This is what I’m looking for. I plan to keep this boat for a very long time. Hope to keep it looking nice as this one when it’s that old.

I've been using BB Saver, after pulling out either give the sides a quick rinse (ie, if scum line), or just apply directly with a mitt. The more I use it, the less scum line I see forming. I also bought some slick mist, but haven't tried it yet.

I have some slightly gritty feeling on the top cap (6 year old boat), was advised to clay bar it and polish it... picked up a Chemical Guys clay bar kit but haven't done it yet. Also don't have a polisher or polishing compound so not sure how I'm going to accomplish that, unless it can also be done by hand.

Buy it direct. I've been around these silly boats a long time, there is nothing better at keeping your rig looking new.
