I'm headed to Sam Rayburn Thursday-Sunday and I would like to know what the Crappie are doing there and some areas to start looking. I think we will be staying close to the Cassels-Boykin ramp. Would anyone be willing to share some tips to get me headed in the right direction?

I usually fish Pines for Crappie and I've never fished for them on Rayburn.

Run up the Attoyac arm of the lake. They should be about ready to run up the river and creeks. I would go past the big power line past Jackson Hill Park.

Thank you Rayburnrun. I see the power lines up past Jackson Hill. Is there a defined channel that runs through there with brush around the edges of the channel? We will start looking in the 15-20 foot depths and see what we can find.

It shallows up the further you go. I live on the Attoyac but out of town working. The river really winds around. Live scoping you will limit with some nice ones. Some nice brush piles around Smirna point at the entrance of that cove.
