What is your favorite rod for pitching a 3/8-1/2 oz jig? Brand, length, and lure rating? Most of the time I use a 7ft rod with a lure rating of 3/8-1oz.

Cost effective option: Don't know if Falcon still makes it, but the Jason Christie series Heavy moderate fast action.
Think it used to be called the "pitchin'" rod. Liked it so much, bought it twice.

These are my choices too, depending on the cover and where I'm fishing.

Everyone so far likes one longer than 7ft. I will have to try that out and see if I like the longer rod for pitching a jig.

I recently switched all my jig rods from Loomis to Falcon so here is my opinion , lol it’s just my opinion loomis fans ! I have Cara Amistads and HCJ , and Exoert Amistad and Finesse jig rod and after using my new falcons there no way I would go back , for jig fishing I believe they are the best I ever had in my hand , actions are perfect , light and they keep fish pinned well but lots of power to handle big uns ! Another option if your short pitching a lot of the time is the Head Turner , I have that one in Lowrider model but use it for spinnerbaits ! Just throwing out a opinion and options , get what YOU like , loomis didn’t fit my style but of course many love them !
