I limited on January 6th - I haven't fished in almost two weeks - but between the 6th and 1st week of Feb it was very hit or miss.

I expect things to start picking up now with the rain and warmer weather.

I'm going to try Chandler river park at some time this week and will report back.

I have been twice in 7 days now, I too am looking for more details and data to follow the run. Here’s my report from the day-

Current was minimal, I have an express h20bay and went as far up river as I could without a chain saw, also went down to the mouth of the lake. I marked several schools with livescope and was unable to catch anything. We threw the tackle box at em and nothing. Looked to be many smaller on the graph but grouped well. All down river past the RR tracks. River is still up past its banks, 47-48 degree water from both ends. Everyone we talked to said they didn’t catch a thing, close to 50 people lined the banks with no stringers in the water. As we were getting off, one guy in a kayak had 2 fish- he said he went way up river and found 1 spot that they had 4 bites with 2 keepers. I personally believe it is “early” since the dog woods bloomed then went back, then tried to bloom again, then another freeze. Think the fish are as confused as nature is.

Im going back out Thursday or Friday to try my luck again. Hope this helps.

Are you able to launch at the Chandler River Park Ramp?

Good Luck,
Bozz

Yes I could put in at boat ramp off 31. Have to get the truck a pretty good ways in the water to load, but wasn’t too bad at all.

Planning to go do some fishing Thursday again to see if there’s a change with this warmer weather we are seeing

Went yesterday water temp was 65*. There were a lot of folks fishing on bank and about 15 boats. Fished for about 4 hrs and caught 6 sand bass. Everyone I spoke with said the bite was slow.I guess one good thing is the fish I did catch were large.

We fished Friday Feb 24th. Saw a few mixed stringers of white and yellow bass and people with the best white bass coming from further upstream than we went which if bank fishing would require waders. Not too crowded and everyone I met was polite and friendly with the nearest group fishing by us reporting a string of 70 the day before mostly yellows. The probably had 30 or 40 mostly yellows yesterday. We managed 16 yellow bass which fried up real tasty.

I took my first trip to the Neches at Chandler Park today. To say that I am obsessed with fly fishing the white and yellow bass run every year would be an understatement. So, of course, the Neches has been on my white bass bucket list.

I was planning on going next weekend but with the rain coming on Wednesday and Thursday I figured I better go today. Thanks to Mudbelly's report I tied up a bunch of yellow bass flies.

I worked my way upstream and found fish in multiple spots. I really enjoyed the day despite it being one of the most fly fishing unfriendly places I've ever fished for white bass.

I ended the day catching over 40 yellow bass and 13 white bass. A couple 10 inch yellow bass and a 15.5 inch / 1.64 lb. white bass really made the day special.

Why do you call this place fly fishing unfriendly?
