I went down to the Welsh ramp on Friday to check out the condition of the ramp, parking lot and the lake. My buddy talked to a person at the ramp that was taking a break from kayak fishing. The guy told him he was from Kansas and there was a 65 boat two-day Kayak fishing tournament on Welsh the past weekend.

Anybody know how they did?

2 bass clubs out there along with Northeast Texas Kayak Bass League, it was a one day tournament with 60 kayakers and it took a 97" limit to win, roughly a 17 or 18lb limit in boat terms. Only 9 of the 60 anglers caught a limit.

I think it only took 3 fish for 10 lbs to win Texas poormans, could be wrong, just relaying what I heard, we didnt stick around long since we couldnt catch anything over 18"

It was the toughest day ive ever had on welsh, didnt help with the cold front and the plant not running for a while. Water temps dropped to 50-55
