I got my deep winter artic cold snap I wished for so I went DSing both days. Friday on Jeff's boat and it was pretty slow from 1pm to 6pm. Not much fish on the graph as we tried several deep spots that were producing last year. We caught total 12, with 11 DSing and then Jeff landed the biggest on the last minutes with the aid of birds.

Sunday I took boatless and fishing-withdrawal buddies, Ray and Terry Boyers, from noon to 6pm and it was much better! This lake is so dang big so I tried a different deep spot and we caught 5 good fish in the first 30 mins of the drift, then we had pockets of no fish under the boat, but overall we caught 27 good fish via DS, mostly overs and then the last minutes with birds we caught 3 big overs with Ray's being a DD fish! Woohoo!

Flukes and Arigs were effective. Water temp 46 to 50f. Winds variable and nada.

Good luck guys.

I'm still learning. What's an Arig?

Short for sweet home Alabama Rig, or umbrella rig.

Great to see a Texoma report from you Todd! My wife and I are headed up there next week. We were hoping for that February cold snap too... it arrived right on time.

It was a great trip for sure! Dad and I thank you again for taking us out yesterday Sunday cheers Todd you make it look easy as you always put on the fish anytime and anyplace we go ….. The bites and fish stayed under the boat dang near the entire time we fished. Dad lost his hat out there so his hair was a lil messy lol cowboy Weather was just perfect thanks again Seapro fish

Travel safe, Carolina. Be careful on windy days. Big Texoma you have to add at least 5+ mph to the wind forecast since DS is in open water. Hope your wife catches bigger fish like last year's laugh

HaHa... funny you remember that, Todd. Competition will be fierce this year!!! Thanks for the tip about the wind.
