just got 2 pisces fun 1000 series viper spinning reels in.. Ok it came with 2 extra small washers that can be put under the spool , on top of the spool shaft, to raise or lower the spool the instructions say it is to adjust where the line lays on the spool. so my question is, in what cases would you need to do this? does braid like to spool up higher or lower on the reel for some reason, or does different types and diameters or mono tend to spool up higher or lower on the reel for whatever reason? I know some lines are flat, rather than round. I spooled up with some Sufix seige 4 lb neon tangerene, and it seems to be even on the spool so im going to roll with the reel like it is for now, but wondering if different lines will be the same. Ive never bought a reel with extra washers before.
COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !

All Daiwa's include the same washers with the same explanation.......... I have 20 plus Daiwa spinning reels Revros to BG's and I have never used one of those washers. However I do have all of them labeled and stored in a box in my man cave just in case

The shims are to adjust spool highly if the line doesn’t lay evenly on the spool. Their used to compensate for manufacturing tolerances.
