This last year has been nuts, with a year-long draught that dropped my pond almost 5' (8' max depth), but due to heavy Dec. and Jan. rainfall, the water level rose to full. Better yet, daytime temperatures in the upper 40's melted any snow on the ground. No local waters have any ice on them. Of course the ski resorts aren't doing too well with no snow. I don't expect next winter will be so kind in N.Y. Pond Jan. 24, 2023 Pond today Bet the fish would bite regardless the water as was proven by a friend in the last three weeks.
