I looked at Legalzoom. Curious what others mu=ight have used.

Probably because LLC's are a relatively new type of business. My stepfather formed corporations rather than LLC's all the way into the . . . what are we calling the 2000-2010 decade? But anyways, he preferred corporations because he knew how government and courts would behave towards them. LLC's are firmly established now with a legal track record, but I bet your dad had similar reasoning.

Of course, nowawdays I'm happy to help folks form an LLC, corporation, limited partnership, trust, etc depending on their needs.

I operate under an LLC with an S Corp for my Completions Consulting business.....
I had a lawyer set it up for me.


It's only a good cast if you catch a fish...

Established a Texas LLC for our timber property a few years ago. Used template found on internet so no cost for document. One time fee from Texas and you will need to file Texas franchise tax return annually, which is easy online.
