Anyone have any info on the white bass run on Somerville. Reports show the lake is about 4.5’ low so i wondered if you can even get into the creeks (Yegau, Birch, Nails) by boat or kayak from the lake.

I'm going to try to get up to Somerville to bank fish the creek a bit north and west of the main lake. Not certain what the name is but near that remote parking lot.

It might be a bit too early so I'll wait a bit longer.

4.5' down might be tough for anything other than a kayak with a shallow draft.

The lake came up a foot or so with the recent rains. The water at the mouth of the creek was only a few inches deep. You could get in if you wanted to wade through the mud and drag a kayak a long way. A few more inches and I will be able to get my boat in. The problem you're going to have is that none of the boat ramps are open. The Nails creek park ramp was chocked out by vegetation from grass growing out of the lake bed. Newmans bottom is currently closed due to the rain

If I fished for money.........I'd be broke.

Lake is still about 3.5' low. Nails creek ramp is closed until further notice per TPWD. Newman's bottom was still closed.
