Okay, since this is Texas and if you don't like the weather, wait 10 minutes and it will change... And since it seems like we have a front blow through about every other day... I think It's safe to say, the wind hasn't blown from the same direction for more than 24 hours here since Jesus was in High School... I'm looking at the forecast and I see a south wind (maybe a little Southeast or Southwest thrown in there) but generally South from now through Wednesday! The temperature is also forecast to be without the typical Texas skitsofrantic 30 degree swings for at least the same period.

So what am I getting at? Well, last a couple days ago, on Wednesday I think, I got the chance to sneak out to the lake for a couple hours and I smoked 'em. Not going to get into the details, that was another thread. But the bite was really good. Today my little fishing buddy Sawyer and I put the hammer to them again. Today, big fish was 46 pounds and we followed that one up with a 37, a few 20s, some teeners a 12, a 10 and a couple 6s and 8s...all together just over 200 pounds! That was just between about 8:00 am and 12 pm. And, we left them biting. We were catching them in the same place we were on Wednesday.

I think with the forecast as stable as it is, the chances that the bite will stay hot like this are pretty good. I am headed out of town all week for work so I will leave it to you guys to keep after 'em while I'm gone. See y'all next weekend!

God Bless & Tight Lines...

This was the only picture I got. I was busy untangling messes and helping Sawyer... walking texas fish

Fantastic!

Just a level set here. I also fished on Lavon yesterday, same lake and same spots (more or less) as Tim. For the first time EVAH I got to the lake before Tim, as he had to get his granddaughter ready. Hah!

It was cold and I drifted baits at no less than 5 spots. I have been skunked the last 3 trips so was hopeful of getting bit yesterday.

The good news is I did catch this trip, one good size teener at 18 pounds, and one box fish.

I was happy. When I got back I realized how much I have to learn when it dawned on me I had caught exactly ONE TENTH of the weight of cats that Tim had put in his boat.

Still a very good day.

Looks and sounds like some really nice fishing to me guys. It's just one thing here CT mentioned, that was the part about he was busy with the tangles, heck you had me tangled before I ever clicked this thread to read it, when I was trying to understand the name of this thread lol. Heck, I am still tangled on that lol...

All kidding aside those are some sick fish.

Oh what a day! Tim, you are a master of the whiskered line stretchers. Just out of curiosity, how long do you run your leaders?

Bob, same question. Also, you should just start following Tim around and drag directly behind him. I guarantee your success rate would improve! Heck, just ask him if you can tie a rope to his drift sock!

My leaders are 3-4 feet, with just 6 inches between the hook and my float (I now use demon dragons).

As to following CFT around, you think I don't already do that?

Bob you crack me up... Geno, I vary the length of my leaders. Some are short (18 to 24 inches) and some are longer ( 36 to 48 inches)...
