Monday and Tuesday were waaaayyyy too pretty not to fish, and thankfully I had a few folks who wanted to join me. On Monday, Mr Kemp came out on a solo trip, and the birds worked very well for us. All fish were released to fight again.
Al and Curtiss joined me for a very pretty Tuesday afternoon, where we used a deadstick technique until the birds started working, and I’m sure you can guess what happened after that. These fish were not quite as lucky as Monday’s fish, as we had already talked about blackened striper on top of a bed bed of dirty rice! Yes sir!!
When dead-sticking, we were using the White Hot Thump Boss tandem rigged with a Paul Spraggins’ bucktail teaser, focusing on fish suspended in 15-25ft of water. When the birds did their thing, we were throwing the Heavy Glow Thump Boss on a one ounce white head.
