Being an Official Weigh Station for the Texas Parks & Wildlife has been very rewarding to me over the years. I have seen plenty of record fish. Today a friend of mine called me and said he had caught a "HUGE" Rainbow Trout. He brought the fish in and it was put on the scale. The official weight of the fish was 7.45 lbs. The length was 23" and the girth was 17.25". Fish was caught on a Gold Super Duper lure. Photos were taken and the paper work will be sent to the Texas Parks & Wildlife, Anglers Recognition Program, for their review. Congratulations to Steven Fong on his Lost Maples State Park Record Rainbow Trout. It just don't get any better. fish

Side Note: The State Rainbow Trout record is 8.92 lbs, caught on the Nueces River. thumb

Jamie. I was supposed to go with Steve that day. It was the day of the stocking. Steve said he was the only one there and that he only caught two fish. His record was one of the two. I met Steve 15 years ago at a trout stocking on the Guadalupe River. He as several nice trout records already in the books. thumb
