What are your thoughts of hiring a guide several days before fishing a tournament on same lake?

Don't be afraid of the light it is just me looking for a place to fish.

If people want to do it so be it. Not my thing and I don't care either way.

I think it should be against the rules if there is a guide rule also. If a guide can’t fish a lake 30 days before an event a contestant should not be allowed to hire a guide in the same 30 days.

A bunch did this during the TTT at Choke last summer. It was obvious as they were all fighting over the same couple spots, lol!

Not for me, but if it's within the rules, I don't mind if others do.

No guides I know are gonna take you to their honey holes unless you've been fishing with them for a long time and they trust you won't be camping on their spots and giving the waypoints to your friends. They're gonna take you to community holes where you can catch some 2-3 lbs fish and maybe have a shot a a big fish now and then.

If you have to rely on a guide to put you on fish, you probably shouldn't be fishing tournaments anyway.

if the derby has an off limits and the guide abides by it - game on, if he cheats then treat them like a criminal and seek local law enforcement involvement... thumb
