Heading to Hamm creek area this evening-for the weekend. Any updates? I was there a few weeks ago and could not find bait fish. Are the stripers in the deeper holes along the bluffs?

Yes, stripers are in the river. Saw tons of shad today in the main river channel stacked near the bottom

Well. Bank fishing was zero. We stay at Bee mountain. No shad in my throw net. We did get in boat and marked fish in channel but no takers. Spun the prop by hitting a rock. I'll try it again in 3 weeks.

From my past experience, it's a little early.
Plus, there has to be river FLOW for a good run. I have no idea what the water level is, or the flow rate right now.
I'm glad there are wine drinkers in this world ..... it saves more beer for the rest of us. Hopper

So from waterdatafortexas.com , it says that Lake Whitney is 7ft. low, and Lake Granbury above it is 2.3ft. low.
Unless Granbury is releasing water, there won't be much flow.
In fact, all of the ramps like Hamm Creek are actually In The Lake . So things may be tough at the ramps. Make a call to Hamm Creek and they will tell you the condition of their ramp.
I'm glad there are wine drinkers in this world ..... it saves more beer for the rest of us. Hopper

The USACE site shows how much water is being released among the other statistics. It is a much better site than the waterdata site. the USGS site is also good.
