Anyone know if it is legal to collect deer tails from roadkill? Does that count as poaching? Otherwise why waste an opportunity for free bucktail hairs.

Wait till it ‘ripens’ a bit and then you can just go pull out what hairs you need without worrying about the game warden. The buzzards may not be too friendly about it, though. If you’re lucky, there might be a possum you can shoot and make ‘bunny zonkers’ out of it. JR

I have cut a lot of tails off roadkill deer. Never had anyone say anything.
