Thank you all for the great suggestions and offers. I’m blown away by how you guys are so willing to help. Please know, I’m looking at a few weeks down the road once things start to warm up some or stabilize. So this is not terribly urgent at this very instant and I didn’t know how long it would take to line it all up (should have known the TFF would step up quick), but I want to have everything in place by early spring and a date set etc. …….. someone has very generously offered their private pond for free and that may end up what we do. I will keep you all posted. I want to get a look at the young man’s gear and May end up buying him a new combo or something and surprise him with it the day we go fishing. I’ll keep you guys up to speed on all that. He’s a great kid. Loves his dad. That’s his idol, and I want to make it a great day for him and his dad. Thanks men. You’re a great group of guys. I’ll be in touch in the coming next few weeks as I learn more.

Hey Frank, i suggest taking advantage of both the trip AND the private pond, it would be two different kind of experiences and would help that picture book you wanted for his dad AND let the young man get different experiences-

Frank, get with Justin Dubose, his family owns Valley Lake Ranch in N. Texas, excellent fishery. With all that are willing to pitch in I think you can make it happen .

I would be glad to take him if you get up toward Broken Bow. Little early yet for consistent bass fishing but we can do something. Everyday is different up here. Prayers sent.

You really think so? Seems really pricey.

My brother has a ranch in east Texas with several tanks. I can get you on there if you want or chip in or do both. One of his good buddies was out there last weekend and caught several up to 5lbs. It would be bank fishing and all you really need is a 1/4 oz spinner bait but he will catch them. It looked like some of the fish were already spawning from the pics I saw.

The main two tanks are over 3 acres each.

It’s near Mt Vernon by the way, if that helps any.
