Looking for current fishing results!

Seems air temps have been unseasonably warm, anyone have good success deadsticking right now with the warmer daytime Temps.

I'm headed to the lake around 11 today (1/10/23). I'm curious what depth and surface Temps your find success or not catching fish???

Fished Belton yesterday with 4" flukes in 35 to 40 feet of water with surface temp of 50.4 degrees. I caught 29 keeper whites, 4 hybrids (no keepers) and 2 catfish to 24 inches. All fish were close to the bottom. All fish released. You need a little wind to get the fish active. Drift speed was .4 to .7 MPH. I used the trolling motor to keep boat speed constant. I caught a few spot locked in 38 feet of water. I started at 10 AM and quit at 1 PM. There was no wind until 10AM.

I was deadsticking super flukes from noon to 4:30pm on Sunday before all heck broke loose. Think I had 6 box fish and 1 nice over, it was a bit of a grind. You needed the boat moving about .5mph to get bites. When it got super calm, it was tough to get bit. I was fishing deep flats along the main river channel. Fish were along the bottom in 70ftw.

If you like to chunk & wind(slow roll), you can catch them all winter fishing key lake structure from 5-15ft.

Want to target quality stripers? Fish stump fields, rock piles and big laydowns. Action might not be fast and furious but most If not all bites will be quality stripers.

Depending on depth, my lure of choice will always be 0.5-075oz Horseheads with a 10" culprit worm.
0.5oz chatterbait with hog farmer trailer. Last but not least sassy/paddle tail swim bait.

Lake Conroe water temp yesterday 58 degrees all day.

The area I've been fishing scattered trees in 30 feet of water. So seeing fish was hard to do. There is too much "stuff" down there...I finally did a split screen with Clear Vu so I could see the trees better, I guess I was lucky to not snag one!

Next trip I'm headed for deeper water. I starting to think all the boats are crappie fishing!

We fished Sunday. I had a thumper customer who wanted to learn how to catch fish in the winter. I fished with Ed from Ed’s Guide service and I will put a video together this week but here is what we did:
1. Fish had been deeper. The water warmed and the fish and bait moved shallower. We caught bait in coves in the morning.
2. First we started with umbrella rigs. We caught fish trolling A rigs in 20’ of water. We looked for humps on the bottom then trolled over them. We ran our rigs 3mph 140-150’ back and hooked up 10 seconds after we passed over the fish usually on both rods.
3. We had bait and deadstick so went to show them how to use those techniques…. We used a thumper to create several schools. If no bites in 10 min we moved.
4. We tried drifting .3 since we had bait but no luck. We had to use the trolling motor to drift about .7 to get bites and when we did it was fast and furious.
5. The 2oz jighead got the most bites and bubblegum and shad were the hot colors.
6. We tandem rigged smaller jig heads and dropped them further back to get bites.
7. We caught 8 overs on deadstick and 2 on bait…
