What type of storage boxes are you using for crank baits?

Any standard 3700 size box will do. I've tried going with the 3700 deep models but I've found that rust seems to be more prevalent when I use deep boxes (for treble hook baits).

Try putting a silica packet or two per row in all your bait boxes.

A standard depth 3700. Some Plano's, some Flambeau's; I don't really have a preference both brands seem fine. I only carry 1-2 of a specific lure in the boxes and store extras in their original packaging in a separate compartment or back at the house to limit potential rust.

As much as I try not to, I seem to always store mine in a big jumbled up mess.

I went to lure lock stackable system. I get 3 rows of crank baits, sorted by color, and because lure lock has that sticky membrane at the bottom, it doesnt allow all the treble hooks to get all mangled together. It is WAY quicker getting around my crankbaits now than it used to be. I have one row that is white/chartreuse, another that is red, and another that is bluegill/perch colors. I have 3 of the 3 tier boxes, one is squarebills, one is flat sided cranks, and the last is an array of different depth crankbaits.

Havent been on a good crankbait bite in awhile, but it looks pretty and it will be ready when I need to get after them again.

I seem to store most of mine in the submerged timber. I found them to be safer down there… hammer

I use a backpack to carry my container. Plano brand but I have other brands.

I'm a Yo-Zuri fan and since they're not cheap. I try to store my lures to where they don't touch each other. The key word in that is, 'try'.

After anything is fished. It doesn't go back into the box until the lure is dry. I don't care if I have to sort them out, laying on rocks.

Once it's time to go home. Everything is packed up. When I get home. The box is opened and I'll let sit for a day. Again, making sure everything is dry. Then it's buttoned up and ready for the next trip.

Here's mine. Some of these ran me $15 bucks each because I hunted them down. Bought off Amazon because Yo-Zuri doesn't let Wallyworld or Academy stock the saltwater/freshwater trolling bait. I use on a slower retrieve from the bank.

Mostly plano 3700 but I do have several Plano boxes that have no dividers in them for larger crank baits and swim baits.

Mostly Bass Mafia 3700 caskets (the clear ones, not the black/red coffins). I do use the deep version for larger cranks ie 8/10XD's, Cloud 9 25's etc. and also have a deep one that holds all my 3/5/6XD's since it's 4" deep vs 3.25 for the Plano 3700 Deep. DT's I have split into two 3700's and then have a box for jerkbaits, one for traps, one for squarebills, one for warts, one for topwaters, yada yada yada... I used to store by depth, but decided recently to try storing by style instead. The storing by color option mentioned above intriques me as well, will think about that one too.

I tried the Plano Waterproof boxes with the 3 latches, but they just seem smaller internally for some reason, and the latches got annoying, so just recently moved everything back into my Bass Mafia boxes. Thinking of trying soft plastics in the waterproof 3700's ala TackleJunkie on YT - filled one up with a bunch of creatures and will try it for a few trips. Usually just leave everything in their original bags, so will see how it goes.

I've looked at that 3 layer Lure Lock a few times, but never pulled the trigger. Just seemed like it might be more of a hassle when you want something out of the bottom, and having to pull out two trays to get to it, etc - but maybe it's not an issue.

I also tried the Plano Edge 3700's and Flex Boxes last year - I actually liked the Flex b/c there were a tad deeper than the 3700 standard, and also the customizable dividers were nice and you could store plenty of baits in it, but the Edge boxes in general I just don't like, especially the latches, which will come undone at the most in-opportune time it seems frown. Every other time I lifed the box out of the center locker the latch would be coming loose/open. Also the clear tops will warp if you leave it out on the deck in the Florida sun. I actually returned about 10 or 12 of them to Academy I disliked them so much.

Other than that, unless you use the Coffins or Muskie type boxes, the only other choice pretty much are the Plano Elite boxes, but you loose too much capacity with those, imo.

Here's a few recent variaions, and of course it's different now too lol. As mentioned now it's pretty much all BM now and no Edge's
