I am looking for recommendations for a 3-4 day guided trip this Feb/March. We were planning on going to Mexico, but in light of recent events, we are going to play it safe this year. I was thinking of either South Texas or South Florida for that time frame, but haven’t explored them very much. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Falcon was definitely on the short list. We were planning to go to El Salto, but with the cartels and government at it right now, it didn’t seem prudent to go.

We just got back from Baccarac and Los Torreones Lodge. The fishing was insane. We had 150-250 fish days. The "slower" days were because we were looking for DD fish. most fish were between 3-6 lbs and lots of them. Biggest was 9.75lbs.
We did get stuck for 2 extra days and had to hire a charter plane to get us out on Monday. The airports closed for 2.5 days and backed up all the flights because of all the Cartel mess.

What took big fish of the week for the camp? Those numbers are insane. Where was the A and Z of the charter. Tempted on making another trip out there soon

I was also thinking about making a trip to Mexico for the first time this spring with my Dad. Is it worth the risk with the Cartel mess?

I figured it would be a good year this year after the flooding last year which made for pretty slow fishing.
