Despite having spent time in DFW, the best Mex restaurant I've been to in TX is in Waco. Lived there for 2 yrs around 2012 and to this day l can't find a place that beats Ninfa's https://ninfaswacomenu.com/That's quite a menu! What would you suggest?

I haven’t had TexMex in years; but 25 years ago for price/quality, the OG Ojedas on Maple carne asado and guiso de res were great.

I haven’t had TexMex in years; but 25 years ago for price/quality, the OG Ojedas on Maple carne asado and guido de res were great. That place was incredible! I worked on Oak Lawn for a year or two and ate there once or twice a week. It was a small, family run joint.

You can get a molcajete in Glen Rose, it wouldn't be the best but you can get it
