I took the boat to Lake Waxahachie to check on some spots that have proven to be productive in the past only to find them void on fish. The fish I did find were all roaming open water following the bait fish at least that`s what appeared to be happening. [Linked Image]

[Linked Image] I could`nt find the Crappie in the usual haunts on this short trip but I did find a very nice Rod & Diawa Reel @ the Ramp with the tip broken off in the trash barrel. I took home and repaired it to do battle again. If anyone can give the description or know of someone that threw it away i`ll be happy to return it to them if they want it.Just pm me.

I was thinking about going tomorrow. How are ramps? Lake is showing about 3’ low on the water data website.

its the same on the lakes I fish. medium sized schools of shad roaming around the lake with everything from catfish to crappie following them around . we found some crappie here and there holding very tight to the bottom of trees, convinced a few to bite, but it was tough fishing. most of the area of the lake we searched looked exactly like the last pic u posted.

COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !

Nice scans..... Most of the fish on my lake are avoiding big stricture for sure but a stick-up will hold one or two fish..... Lots of open water fish not necessarily chasing bait but suspended in shallow waters..... Some in as shallow as 4fow just setting there..... I've been having Limits coming aboard but have had to work for them..... My MK Ulterra has really been taking a beating.....

Seems a few of us fish that pond. Haven't been since the middle ramp was the only "safe" ramp. Saw it had come back up just haven't been back in a while. If you see a charcoal avid 19xb say hi

Thanks SK! I `m thinking they have headed into the main creek of this lake it has some holes that will hold shad . I`ll take some more shots my next trip out.

I`ll do just that Esnow74! Lake has come up enough to use the West ramp now & get into the creek now which is a BIG +
