Any suggestions on what lakes near dallas are good for catfish fishing, I haven't caught fish in ages, white rock lake, Lavon lake, ray Hubbard lake, I've used chicken liver, and shrimp, but nothing seems to catch.

All of the lakes you mentioned have good populations of catfish. Check the Texas Parks and Wildlife page for community lakes in your area. They regularly stock catfish in these lakes and they are often a great place to catch eater size catfish. For channel catfish, get a good punch bait like Stumpys or Mr Whiskers. Earthworms are also a good bait for finding fish. For big fish, use shad, sunfish or cut bait. Chumming an area with range cubes or sour maze will help you catch more fish. Location is important. If you are not catching fish then try a different area of the lake. Getting a good guide is a great way to increase your skills and see how fish are being caught on a particular lake. Winter is trophy fish season and there are some good ones out there. I caught this one on Lewisville. Good luck and let use know how you do.
