Now that's funny. grin

Interested in this thread for the simple fact I have seen a lot of lost fish (multiple species) on glide baits. Not due to line size but other factors - single hook/huge bait = more leverage for the fish; angler error; wrong tackle set up.

I throw 15lb fluorocarbon. I checked the knot about every 15 minutes. Now I don't throw it much but my son does and 20lb fluorocarbon and he re-ties a lot.

20 or 25# mono.
I like that it has some stretch so less lost fish and also floats, which has allowed me to retrieve at least one bait that broke the line during a massive lob cast.
But everyone has their own preference.

I like a 20-25lb mono on bigger glides and swimbaits.

Braid to leader...minimum PowerPro Maxquatro 50 lb braid...25 to 30 pound shock leader. Zero issues.

Depends on what you are calling big?

The 7" 3:16 Workhorse is 3.25 oz. The 7" HInkle is 6.25 oz. There is a big difference between those two. You throw a 6 oz bait on 15# line you're asking for heartbreak.

This but I throw 65 lb for its increased diameter which tends to not backlash as much as the smaller diameter braids. The shock leader is a must!

3 oz or less 15lb mono, 3-5 oz 20 lb mono, over 5oz and over 25 lb mono. It really doesn't matter, regardless the line size you're going to cast one off eventually and it will be because of a mechanics / mechanical issue not the lb test of your line.

My son really likes the S waver in bone color.

The light trout s-waver has probably caught more fish than any other color and it doesn't matter if there are trout in your waters or not.
