Depends on water clarity & type cover. On my home lakes (Belton & Stillhouse) I primarily use12lb.-15lb. Segar Invizx for both full spool or as leader attached to 30 lb. Power Pro braid.

Iā€™d throw it on 15 lb INVISX most of the time. I would go up to 17-20lb in rocks, docks, or trees.

Throwing or pitching?
Pitching I never use less than 20. A 3/4oz jig needs a good jerk to set the hook.
100% Berkley or Pline CXX.

17 lb. in fairly clear water. Mono. T Line by mason. I assume a rather large hook so up the line size a bit to get a good set.
If the water is dirty or it's heavy cover....20 and up to 65 braid. Power Pro.

I use 2, 4, and some times 6 pound test line.

The heaviest fish landed with 4 lb test line was a 23 pound Grass Carp. Took just over half an hour to get my lure back. It was great fun.

Look! Up in the sky. It's a bird. It's a plane. No, it's an EMP!

3/4 oz football jig on those lb test line would be a challenge not to break on the cast bang

If you only fish for small bass.

I quit using Stren line way back in 1972 because even then there were better lines on the market and they have continued to get even better and better.
