Torsion axles

Right now I have a drop center torsion axle, if I replace it, does the new one need to be drop center as well or can it be straight?

I would say it depends on your boat, the drop is to keep the keel from hitting them axle. You need to think about how the boat (bow) loads at a steep ramp. If it's a custom trailer for the boat I'd probably go back with what it has
