Pour the dried noodles in a metal strainer or metal pie pan.
Low, indirect, heat on the charcoal grill. Smoke the daylights out the dry noodles. Stir them up as you smoke them. They'll take a roasted colored look. It doesn't take much for a smoke flavor so it's ok not to go as far. Deep and Smokey. Oh yeah. Oak will work. Pecan, Apple, or Mesquite.
After that, follow the recipe of boiling it. Adding cheese.
