Got a little stir crazy at the house over the holiday weekend, so I snuck out to Granbury for a few hours on Christmas day. Decided to go main lake instead of the river where I typically go...

That lake can suck it!!!

48-49 degree temps and the few fish I found grouped up wouldn't come out and play. Caught a few dinks and came on back home.

Only saw one boat on the lake all day,,,,, and Of course it was a Jetski doing doughnuts in the middle of the boat lane..

More I fish the lake makes me not to ever want to go back.

I saw your post about Granbury, I'm headed down there for a few days over new years. My family has a place on the river and I usually just take my son out in the spring for whitebass. We just got a live scope so we are going to try to find some crappie on the river. I have never really fished for crappie, are they in the river in the winter?

There are good crappie in the river. I would look at some of the deeper docks and any deep brush/tree piles. Lake is about 3' low so some areas of the river are going to be a little skinny

Thanks for the tips. Was about to put 10 keepers in the boat between my son and I. Docks with 10-13fow were the ticket. Also found some shallow in the creeks on lay downs. Water was 53* in the creek.
